Mexican red rumps are rightly well known for their beauty, toughness and general good nature. They thrive in an appropriately sized terrarium, although they are an extremely slow growing species. The benefit of this is that they are long lived; 25 to 30 years is possible for females, although males will rarely go beyond 10.
