A fresh weed based diet for tortoises, bearded dragons and other herbivorous animals
Fresh Tortoise Food

Pete’s Herbivore Salad Mix is a great mix that varies through the season, using many different species of weeds and other edible plants. This is not only great for the tortoises nutritionally but also offers a form of enrichment as new smells and flavours are introduced.

About Pete’s Salads For Reptiles
Over the course of many years caring for and helping people with their reptiles, Pete noticed that there was a dire need for leafy greens that specifically met the needs of animals, not just humans. Tortoises especially need high levels of fibre and minerals, and these simply aren’t available in the sort of salad greens that people eat.
Pete’s polytunnel produced enough weeds to feed all the herbivores and omnivores in his reptile shop, and people kept asking where they could buy the food that his animals were tucking into so eagerly.
Space was found for a larger polytunnel – and Pete’s Herbivore Salad was born!
We have been using this mix for a few years now and find it is readily accepted by all of our herbivorous and omnivorous reptiles and invertebrates.
