About Pete’s Salads For Reptiles

Over many years of caring for reptiles and assisting reptile owners, Pete (owner of Evolution Reptiles) realised there was a significant gap in the market for leafy greens that catered specifically to the dietary needs of reptiles, rather than humans. Tortoises, in particular, require high levels of fibre and minerals, which are often lacking in the typical salad greens consumed by people.

Pete’s polytunnel initially produced enough nutritious weeds to feed all the herbivores and omnivores in his reptile shop. The demand grew as customers continually asked where they could purchase the same quality food that his animals were enjoying so enthusiastically.

To meet this growing demand, space was allocated for a larger polytunnel, and thus, Pete’s Herbivore Salad was born!

We have been using this mix for several years now and have found that it is readily accepted by all of our herbivorous and omnivorous reptiles, as well as invertebrates.
