Description
Our habitat set has been designed by us using all our extensive product knowledge and experience to provide your leopard gecko with the best living space available – and all at a very reasonable price. Plenty of space, a good temperature gradient and access to low levels of UVB for optimum health means your gecko will be happy, healthy and live a long and comfortable life!
The wooden vivarium that forms the basis of this setup is large enough for a single gecko to enjoy life to the full, as it provides enough space for multiple hides, areas to climb and enough decor to keep life interesting for them. Despite being a ground living gecko, they do appear to enjoy being able to explore multiple levels within their home, and with this size of housing it’s simple to provide a range of sizes, textures and temperatures.
A deep heat projector provides a basking spot of 30 to 35°C during the day, allowing your gecko to regulate its temperature and digest its food efficiently. This bulb will also heat the air in the vivarium, providing the temperature gradient so vital for all reptile species. The digital touch screen, app connected thermostat (set to dimming) will keep the temperatures correct during the day and automatically turn the heat down at night to provide that natural temperature drop.Â
Safety with heat lamps is paramount, and the lamp holder in this setup is a solid, reliable unit that will give you years of trouble free service. The ceramic holder itself is heat resistant and rated for up to 200 watts, with the E27 screw fitting ensuring compatibility with a wide range of commonly available vivarium heat lamps. It also features a unique 180 degree rotating bracket which allows ultimate flexibility, and precision aiming of your bulb in order to create a basking hotspot anywhere you would want to put it. It also has an in line on/off switch, and a heat resistant cable. Two of these units are supplied, one for the basking bulb and one for the UVB light.
Leopard geckos are crepuscular, which means that although they don’t need the high UVB levels of day active lizards they do benefit from access to low levels of UV light. The UV lighting in this setup are effective at providing the levels of UV to create a Ferguson Zone of 1, perfect for the dawn and dusk active leopard gecko.Â
One of the most important items of equipment in all of reptile keeping is the digital thermometer! The thermometer that we include with this habitat is reliable, robust and with two probes it’s possible to monitor both the cool and warm ends of the vivarium at the same time. We have been using these units for years now, both in store and personally – and we think that they are just right for keeping track of the temperatures in your pets’ enclosure.
Should you require a stand for your new vivarium, this particular item is designed to form a complete unit with the Viva+ vivariums. It attaches directly to the bottom of the vivarium, forming a sturdy support along the whole length of the base. Looks wise, it completes the setup into a solid, attractive piece of furniture that complement any living space, as well as providing storage space for the items that you need to keep your gecko happy and healthy.
