Philodendron micans (hanging)

The Philodendron micans is a beautiful plant with a velvety finish to the leaves, and a lovely green and purple colour. It can form large clumps in the vivarium, and needs bright light to keep its colour. It thrives in well drained, moist soil and is ideal for a large bioactive system.

Like all the vining philodendrons, micans will scramble over hardscaping and make a very showy display with it’s large leaves. It provides the perfect shelter and resting spot for arboreal frogs. Pinch out the growing tips to encourage the formation of side shoots.

Like all philodendrons, this plant should not be kept with herbivorous pets.
